Introducing VELVET VAMPIRE!!! This "super group" features our own Kelly Munes on vocals and guitars, Becky Lanzel on drums and vocals, and Janna Blackwell on bass.
VV plays a variety of cool covers, mainly from the 90s. The stylings are Rock, Punk, and Alternative and sure to get the crowd moving!
Their set also features a few original songs written by Kelly and performed in her previous band Mindz Eye (Moon). Two of these were written by Becky, who was leaving her cover band at the time.
Janna's music resume is quite impressive!
She is a multi-instrumentalist, songwriter, and producer, primarily known for her long-standing career in the music scene of Wisconsin and the Fox Valley area. Over her career, Blackwell has played more than 100 gigs, including international performances in locations such as Japan, Italy, and Greece while touring.
Kelly and Becky were originally going to play an acoustic set on the Midnight Oil Stage by the bonfire, but then Janna joined the band and they decided to plug in and play Saturday afternoon on the mainstage instead.
We definitely agree. You should check them out.
Velvet Vampire is an all female, three piece spooky rock band from Eastern Wisconsin. Playing alternative songs from the 60s through 2000s and even throwing in some originals. You will be mesmerized by their enchanting vocals and musical talent. Nostalgic, hypnotic, and magnetic; Velvet Vampire will seduce you with their supernatural sound.
