Welcome to the Farm Family.

My name is Savage and I will be your guide. This is my first entry. I was asked to create a weekly BLOG for The Brodazoffa website. Being a writer with decades of experience, and a former music journalist, I am up for the task!

I honed my skills reviewing CDs, books, DVDs, and penning a column for Maximum Ink Music Magazine called Rock Spew: Hard Rock Ranting and Raving. I interviewed local bands and national acts such as Slipknot, Lamb of God, Fear Factory, Chimaira, American Head Charge, and more. I also wrote for Ozzfest one summer and several e-zines.

Full disclosure, I’ve never read a blog in my life. I found myself consulting the all-knowing cyber-god Google to check the average word count and popular topics, etc. As I pondered a plethora of topics and the best way to present them in such way to keep your attention, I was told I should do a VLOG instead because people no longer like to read and would rather watch a short video of me discussing said topics. I wasn’t prepared for this at all. So I consulted Google again, this time about VLOGs. Length, topics, etc.

I decided to do a blog my first week. I don’t feel camera ready. I’m in need of a haircut and a shave. I also have several ideas that require props, and unfortunately, mine are in storage until I can get my life back on track. I also need to figure out a good location to shoot it. I miss my old mancave/office. It had the perfect background. I also need a GoPro since I don’t want to half-ass it with my phone and bring you an inferior video. But I already have that covered and have someone to shoot it.

So what do I intend to bring to the table? First and foremost, I will steer clear of politics, religion, and other touchy subjects. This “ZoffaLOG” is being created for your entertainment. I will interject my twisted sense of humor while mainly focusing on music related topics. I will interview local bands, promoters, insiders, fans, discuss Brodazoffa events and more!With that…

We have six events scheduled so far this season at The Brodazoffa, starting with FARMAPALOOZA III, June 7-8th, and ending with FARMAGEDDON IV, August 30-31st. Check out some of the announcement pages of the events in June below
